The ISCAR 3401169 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the ECI-4-VF series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration, and a variable index geometry that helps reduce chatter and improve surface finish. The cutting edge geometry supports both roughing and finishing in a single tool. An AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, making this end mill well-suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and CNC tooling specialists.
This end mill is built for short-reach applications requiring a 1 inch length of cut with a 2 inch reach length and a 4 inch overall length. The Weldon flat shank with an h6 tolerance shank diameter of 5/8 inch provides secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders. Its centercutting capability allows for plunge entry, and the submicron carbide substrate grade supports use in challenging workpiece materials including superalloys and hardened steels. The extended reach designation and short flute length make it appropriate for high-stability pocketing, slotting, and peripheral milling operations on CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter. ISCAR catalog reference for this tool is ECI-4 625-1.0/2.0W06VF4.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Secure the Weldon flat shank in a compatible toolholder using the appropriate wrench and set screw torque specifications provided by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly in tight-tolerance or hard-material applications. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; external coolant or air blast should be directed at the cutting zone to aid chip evacuation and temperature management.
