The ISCAR 3399289 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.125-inch diameter, a 0.015-inch corner radius, and 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a coarse pitch and 45-degree helix angle. The cutting geometry supports both roughing and finishing in a single tool. A Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) PVD coating reduces friction and extends tool life when cutting aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The extended reach design and single-end, centercutting configuration make it well suited for deep-pocket and slot milling operations performed by machinists and CNC operators in precision machining environments.
This end mill is built for use in non-ferrous metal machining, including aluminum alloys, copper, and brass commonly encountered in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing applications. The 0.5-inch length of cut and 0.5-inch reach length support controlled material removal in confined features and deep slots. It mounts in a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder accepting a 0.125-inch shank. With a 1.5-inch overall length, it fits a wide range of vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. ISCAR catalogs this tool under series ECAI-B3-EC and catalog number ECAI-B3 .125-.5CR015-1.5.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N). Refer to ISCAR series ECAI-B3-EC documentation for full application guidelines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool carousel is de-energized before changing tooling. Seat the 0.125-inch straight shank fully in the toolholder collet and torque the retention system per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tooling.
