The ISCAR 3399223 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3120 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.015 inch corner radius that blends edge strength with surface finish quality. The tool features 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a coarse pitch and a 45-degree helix angle, making it effective for both roughing and finishing passes. A DLC (diamond-like carbon) PVD coating reduces friction and extends tool life in aluminum and other non-ferrous workpieces. This end mill is centercutting and extended-reach, suited for deeper cavity work and profiling operations where standard-length tools cannot reach.
This end mill is intended for use in non-ferrous metal machining environments such as aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Its extra-long 4 inch overall length and 1-1/4 inch length of cut make it well-suited for mold work, deep pocket milling, and contour profiling on CNC machining centers. It mounts in a straight-cylindrical toolholder and is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing settings. The ECAI-B3-EC series designation and submicron carbide grade indicate this is a precision ground tool built for tight-tolerance applications.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical toolholders. Cataloged under ISCAR series ECAI-B3-EC with manufacturers catalog number ECAI-B3 .312-1.3CR015-4EC. Primary workpiece material classification is non-ferrous metal (material code N).
Installation is performed by qualified machinists on CNC milling equipment. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and undamaged before seating the 5/16 inch straight shank, and torque the collet or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before running. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, particularly when running at high surface footage in abrasive non-ferrous alloys.
