The ISCAR 3399018 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 5/16-inch diameter, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle with a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The submicron carbide grade provides a fine, consistent grain structure suited for high-speed and finish milling operations. With three flutes and a variable index design, this end mill reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish quality. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines across job shops, aerospace, die and mold, and general precision manufacturing environments. The 5/16-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it straightforward to chuck in standard collets. The 2-1/2-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard workpiece setups without excessive overhang. Its centercutting capability allows plunge milling as well as conventional peripheral cutting passes. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working on ferrous and non-ferrous materials will find this tool suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill suitable for use in standard 5/16-inch collet chucks or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Ensure spindle and machine are at a complete stop before changing or inspecting tooling. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide tools can fracture if run with damaged edges.
