The ISCAR 3398390 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in production machining environments. It features a 5-flute configuration with a variable index geometry and an AlTiCrSiN PVD coating, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. The mill diameter is 0.75 inches with a matching straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.75 inches at h6 tolerance. Overall length is 6 inches, with a length of cut of 1.625 inches and an extended reach of 3.25 inches. The 0.015-inch corner radius protects the cutting edge and reduces stress concentration at the tool tip. Part of the ECI-5-VF series, this tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working with high-performance toolholders.
This end mill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its extra-long length type and extended reach make it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, slotting in tall workpieces, and finishing passes where standard-length tools cannot reach. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC machining centers. It is a single-end tool with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through capability, suited for applications where external coolant or air blast is used at the spindle.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the extended reach of this tool.
