The ISCAR 3398379 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill from the ECI-5-VF series, designed for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, five flutes with variable index geometry, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration and extends tool life at the cutting edge. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness suited for high-performance milling. Weighing 0.7 pounds, this end mill is built for rigorous shop environments where tool consistency matters.
This end mill targets applications in ferrous and exotic-alloy machining where both roughing and finishing passes are required from a single tool. The medium-length flute configuration at 1-5/8 inches length of cut, combined with a 3-1/2-inch overall length and extended reach design, makes it suitable for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations on CNC machining centers. The straight-cylindrical 5/8-inch shank with h6 tolerance interfaces directly with standard toolholders. Typical users include CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 5/8-inch cylindrical shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers running right-hand cutting operations. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder bore and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout at the cutting edge before starting the first pass, and verify cutting parameters against material hardness and machine capability.
