The ISCAR 3398378 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal operations in ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. It features a 0.75 inch mill diameter, a 1.625 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life in interrupted or continuous cuts. The five-flute geometry with variable index and right-hand spiral flutes supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. An AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making this cutter well suited for high-speed and hard-material machining environments. Machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production settings rely on this geometry for consistent surface finish and dimensional control.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as CNC milling machines equipped with a compatible toolholder. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, M, K, S, H). The extended reach geometry and medium length classification make it appropriate for applications requiring access to deeper pockets or stepped features where a standard-length tool would not reach. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits precision collets and shrink-fit holders common in production tooling setups. This cutter belongs to the ISCAR ECI-5-VF series and carries catalog number ECI-5 .75-1.63C.015VF4.
Designed for use with a compatible toolholder. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits precision collets, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit holders. Intended for use in applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as part of the ISCAR ECI-5-VF series.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before committing to a full-depth cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material being machined.
