The ISCAR 3398013 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in ferrous and exotic alloy applications. Part of the ECI-4-VF series, it features a 5/16 inch (0.3130 inch) mill diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and four flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with variable index geometry. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance suited to high-temperature cutting environments. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1 inch length of cut, making it appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes where tool life and edge integrity are critical.
This end mill is built for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, centercutting design supports plunge entry and full-slot cutting. The extended reach and long-length configuration make it suitable for pocketing, contouring, and profiling operations in mold, die, aerospace, and general precision machining environments. It mounts in a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder with a 5/16 inch shank diameter and h6 tolerance shank fit. Material removal type is rated for both roughing and finishing, reducing the number of tools needed per operation.
Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch shank with h6 tolerance. The ISCAR catalog reference for this end mill is ECI-4 312-1.0C015VF3. Rated for use in steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H) per ISO workpiece material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder and spindle are clean and free of runout before seating the shank. Confirm clamping torque meets the toolholder manufacturer specification before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material class being machined.
