The ISCAR 3398007 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in both roughing and finishing operations. With a 1/4 inch diameter, 4 flutes, and a 0.015 inch corner radius, this tool delivers controlled edge geometry that reduces chipping and extends tool life in hard materials. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides high heat resistance and oxidation resistance, making it well suited for dry and near-dry cutting conditions. The variable index feature helps suppress vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series and is designed for medium-length applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to milling strategies. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures accurate fitment in standard collet chucks and toolholders. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers handling precision component work where consistent corner geometry is required across repeated passes.
Designed for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Manufacturers catalog number ECI-4 250-750C015VF2.5.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and runout specifications. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped within the collet or toolholder before spindle engagement. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before initiating any cut. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, particularly after exposure to superalloys or hardened workpieces.
