The ISCAR 3328967 is a solid carbide DNMG432-F3M turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured under the Isoturn series and graded IC830, this insert features a multi-layer PVD coating combining TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN through ISCAR's proprietary SumoTec coating process. The 55-degree diamond shape (Code D) with a positive rake geometry and F3M chip breaker delivers controlled chip formation across a range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 15.5 mm in length with a 12.7 mm inscribed circle, a 4.76 mm thickness, and a 0.8 mm corner radius. It is right-hand oriented and conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
The IC830 grade with SumoTec PVD coating is suited for turning ISO material groups M (stainless steel), P (steel), and S (superalloys). The F3M chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing to medium turning passes with a maximum depth of cut of 1.5 mm. This insert is typically used in production turning environments where consistent surface finish and tool life are required across mixed-material schedules. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers and users of this insert.
Designed for use in DNMG-style insert pockets within the ISCAR Isoturn toolholder series. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO groups M (stainless steel), P (steel), and S (superalloys) as designated by the IC830 grade specification.
This insert is installed and indexed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians following standard lathe toolholder seating procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or clamp-style key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert without over-torquing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
