The ISCAR 3202826 is a SumoCham-series replaceable-tip drill designed for precision holemaking in metal cutting applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill-tip inserts, allowing the body to be reused while only the cutting tip is swapped out. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.394 to 0.429 inches and reaches a maximum drill depth of 4.79 inches, with a depth-to-diameter ratio of 12xD. An internal through-coolant channel delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, improving chip evacuation and extending insert life. This tool is sized for a 5/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and is intended for CNC machining centers and drill press setups used by professional machinists and toolroom technicians.
This drill body is suited for production and job-shop holemaking operations where repeatable hole quality and fast tip changeovers are required. The SumoCham DCN-style toolholder body is a direct fit for applications demanding consistent bore diameters in the 0.394 to 0.429-inch range with maximum depths in the 4.5 to 6.0-inch range. The replaceable-tip design reduces downtime compared to regrind tooling, making it practical for high-volume drilling in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The body conforms to ISO 13399 tool data standards, which simplifies integration with CAM software and tool management systems.
Designed for use with FCP, HCP-IQ, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, iCP-2M, and QCP-2M replaceable drill-tip inserts at insert seat size 10, as specified by the manufacturer for the SumoCham DCN toolholder series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing a drill tip, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Seat the insert tip firmly and torque the clamping screw to the value specified in the ISCAR SumoCham tooling documentation — do not estimate torque by feel. Verify through-coolant port alignment and confirm adequate coolant pressure before initiating a cut.
