The ISCAR 3202650 is a replaceable-tip drill body in the SumoCham series, designed for precision holemaking in metalworking and machining applications. The drill accommodates a diameter range of 8 to 8.4 mm and reaches a maximum drill depth of 40 mm, with a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. It features a 12 mm straight-cylindrical shank and an overall length of 100.4 mm. Through-coolant capability is built in, allowing cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. The DCN toolholder style body accepts interchangeable insert tips rather than brazed or solid cutting heads, keeping tooling costs manageable during high-volume production runs.
This drill body is suited for holemaking operations on CNC machining centers and turning centers where consistent bore diameter and depth are required. The replaceable-tip design makes it practical for job shops and production environments running steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The insert seat size 8 accepts FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M style inserts, giving machinists flexibility to match the tip geometry to the specific material and cut condition. It complies with ISO 13399 tooling data standards, which simplifies integration with CAM software and presetter systems.
Compatible with FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICN, ICP, and iCP-2M style replaceable drill tip inserts at insert seat size 8. Designed for use in CNC machining environments where the DCN toolholder style and straight-cylindrical shank interface are supported.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Verify that the insert tip is seated completely and the clamping mechanism is torqued to the drill body manufacturer specifications before initiating a cut. Confirm that the machine coolant system pressure is compatible with the through-coolant passages before operation. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before mounting a new tip to prevent seating errors.
