The ISCAR 3202291 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the SumoCham series, designed for precision holemaking in metal cutting applications. It accepts a range of interchangeable drill tip inserts, allowing the technician to swap worn tips without replacing the full tool body. The drill covers a diameter range of 0.315 to 0.331 inches and reaches a maximum drilling depth of 1.57 inches. The 0.5-inch Weldon Flat shank provides a secure, anti-rotation connection in standard drill chucks and tool holders. Overall length is 3.95 inches, with a body length of 2.18 inches and a shank length of 1.77 inches. Through-coolant capability helps clear chips and manage heat at the cutting zone during high-feed operations.
This drill body is suited for production machining environments where holemaking efficiency and insert cost control are priorities. The 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth holes in a variety of workpiece materials. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, or maintenance machining settings. The DCN toolholder style designation aligns with standard ISCAR SumoCham system tooling. Compatible insert styles include FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICP, and iCP-2M, giving the user flexibility to match the tip geometry to the workpiece material and application.
Compatible with FCP, ICK, ICK-2M, ICM, ICP, and iCP-2M replaceable drill tip inserts. Fits standard 1/2-inch Weldon Flat tool holders using the DCN toolholder style designation within the ISCAR SumoCham system.
Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Confirm the Weldon Flat setscrew in the tool holder is torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the insert seating pocket for chips or debris before mounting a new tip, as contamination in the pocket can affect runout and tip seating accuracy. Follow your facility safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements when changing tooling.
