The ISCAR 3197232 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Part of the ISCAR TangMill series, this cutter accepts five LN 1506 style inserts and produces true 90-degree shoulder angles, making it well-suited for stepped surfaces, shoulders, and full-face milling passes. The cutter measures 2 inches in cutting diameter with a maximum depth of cut of 0.551 inches and uses a 0.75-inch arbor hole for mounting. At 1.57 inches in overall height, it is built for rigid setups on vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers. Insert holding is accomplished via clamp and screw retention for secure, repeatable indexing.
This face mill is used in production and job-shop environments where square-shoulder milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials is required. The 0 and 90 degree lead angle geometry allows for true 90-degree wall formation in a single pass. With five insert pockets and right-hand cutting direction, it is appropriate for standard spindle rotation on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The TangMill platform is an established ISCAR system, and this body is configured for the LN 1506 insert family, giving the operator access to a wide range of insert grades and geometries for different workpiece materials.
Compatible inserts include LNAR 1506, LNAR 1506 PN-R-S (PCD), LNAT 1506-W, LNAT 1506..PN-N MM, LNAW-15 (CBN), LNHW 1506 PNTN (Ceramic), LNKX 1506 1.5X45 PN-N, LNKX 1506PN-N PL, LNKX/LNMT 1506PNTN/PN-N MM, LNMT 1506PN-R-TS, LNMT/LNHT 1506...-N HT, LNMT/LNHT 1506PN-R HT, and LNMW 1506 PN. Manufacturer catalog number F90LN D2.00-05-.75-R-N15. Cutter style designation F90LN-N15.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting or indexing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped, locked out, and de-energized per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Verify arbor and spindle interface are clean and free of chips before seating the cutter body. Insert seating surfaces and clamping screws should be inspected at each index; do not operate with damaged or improperly seated inserts.
