The ISCAR 3103048 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for high-efficiency shoulder milling and face milling operations on CNC machining centers. Built to the Helialu series standard, this right-hand cutter accepts 4 inserts in the HM90 APCR 1605 style and delivers a 0/90 degree lead angle for true 90-degree walls in a single pass. The 2-inch cutting diameter and 1.18-inch maximum depth of cut make it well suited for moderate material removal in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. Through-coolant capability supports longer insert life and chip evacuation in deep shoulder cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and set this toolholder.
This face mill is used in production and job-shop environments on vertical and horizontal machining centers where square-shoulder profiling, face milling, and step milling are required. The 0.75-inch arbor hole mounts directly to standard arbors and adapters conforming to ISO tooling interfaces. With a maximum ramping angle of 11.20 degrees, it also supports helical interpolation entry, expanding its application to pocketing operations without a pre-drilled entry hole. It fits standard milling setups where a 2-inch cutter diameter is appropriate for the spindle and fixture setup.
Compatible inserts include HM90 APCR 160502R-P, HM90 APCR 160504R-P, HM90 APCR 160505R-P, HM90 APCR 160508R-P, and HM90 APCR 160516R-P. Cutter style is SM-16. Mounts to 0.75-inch arbor hole adapters conforming to ISO tooling standards.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before mounting or removing the cutter body. Torque all insert clamping screws to the tool manufacturer specification found in the ISCAR tooling documentation for the HM90 APCR 1605 insert system. Verify arbor runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program to prevent premature insert wear or workpiece deviation.
