The ISCAR 2850057 is an indexable internal grooving toolholder from the Top Grip series, designed for precision grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built for right-hand orientation, this toolholder accepts TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P inserts held in place by a clamp-style insert holding method. It features through-coolant delivery to extend insert life and improve chip evacuation during internal grooving. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.22 inches and a minimum hole diameter of 0.95 inches, this toolholder is suited for tight-bore internal grooving applications where dimensional control is critical. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on production turning equipment will find this an appropriate fit.
This toolholder is intended for internal grooving in bores down to 0.95 inches in diameter. It covers a universal range of workpiece materials, including ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless, and heat-resistant alloys, as classified by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The TGIR 19C-3 style is typically installed in gang tooling setups or turret-mounted configurations on CNC turning centers where repeatable groove width and depth control are required. The 5.85-inch shank length and 7.1-inch overall length accommodate standard toolholder pockets on mid-range CNC lathes.
Accepts TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P series inserts with compatible insert size codes TGMA, TGMF, and TGMF/P. Complete insert compatibility includes TGMF 3.. series inserts. Designed for use in internal grooving applications requiring a minimum hole diameter of 0.95 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be stopped and all motion axes locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool block. Ensure the shank bore and mounting pocket are clean and free of chips before seating the toolholder. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and properly connected to the machine coolant supply before operation.
