The ISCAR 2801143 is a right-hand internal indexable grooving toolholder from the Cut Grip series, designed for precision internal grooving on CNC turning centers and lathes. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.094 inches and a groove width range of 0.075 to 0.095 inches, it handles tight-tolerance internal groove applications across a broad range of workpiece materials. The toolholder features a 0.625-inch round shank and an overall length of 5 inches, with through-coolant capability to manage heat and chip evacuation at the cutting zone. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this holder as part of a modular grooving system using compatible indexable inserts.
This toolholder is suited for internal non-face grooving operations in both production and job-shop environments. It is designed for use in applications involving materials classified under the universal material spectrum, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, heat-resistant superalloys, and hardened materials. With a minimum hole diameter requirement of 0.492 inches, it is appropriate for small-bore internal grooving work where access space is limited. The GEHI-style head and clamp-style insert retention make it a practical choice for repetitive, high-volume internal groove cycles.
Compatible insert families include GEMI, GEMI (Full Radius), GEPI, GEPI (Full Radius), GEPI-MT, and GEPI-WT. The toolholder cross-references to manufacturer designation GEHIR/L 15.9-13-2-T2.4. Complete insert compatibility codes are GEMI and GEPI series.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Before mounting the toolholder, power down the machine and confirm the turret is fully indexed and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the shank bore and coolant-through port alignment before securing the holder in the turret block. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specification, as doing so may overload the insert clamp and cause insert or holder damage.
