The ISCAR 2800499 is a right-hand indexable cutoff toolholder designed for grooving, parting, and turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to the Cut Grip series standard, it features a clamp-style insert holding method that locks GIG, GIM, GIP, and TIP inserts securely under cutting loads. The shank measures 0.6299 inches in both height and width, with an overall length of 4.72 inches. Maximum depth of cut is 1.26 inches, and maximum workpiece diameter is 1.26 inches. This toolholder is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments where precise, repeatable cutoff and grooving work is required.
The 2800499 is suited for applications involving grooving, parting off, and external turning on workpieces up to 1.26 inches in diameter. The toolholder style is GHS, and the shank length is 3.75 inches, making it compatible with standard lathe tool blocks and quick-change turrets that accept a 16 mm square shank. Minimum insert width is 0.087 inches and maximum insert width is 0.124 inches, providing a range of grooving widths depending on insert selection. It is a practical choice for high-volume turning operations where consistent insert indexing and secure clamping are priorities.
Designed for use with GIG, GIM, GIP, and TIP indexable inserts in the Cut Grip series. Compatible with lathe tool blocks and quick-change turrets accepting a 16 mm square shank. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this toolholder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret. Ensure the insert seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating a new insert. Torque the clamp fastener according to the insert manufacturer's specification for the insert size in use.
