The ISCAR 2301253 is a left-hand indexable grooving and cutoff toolholder from the Do-Grip series, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts DG-series indexable inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method, providing rigid clamping for consistent groove geometry. The toolholder accommodates groove widths from 1.9 to 2.5 mm (0.0748 to 0.0984 inches) and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 17.5 mm (0.689 inches). The square shank measures 16 x 16 mm (0.630 x 0.630 inches). Machinists and CNC operators install this holder for grooving, parting, and cutoff work in production turning environments.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving and cutoff applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both light and medium-duty turning setups. The left-hand orientation makes it appropriate for specific spindle directions or gang-tool arrangements. The DGTL-style head geometry supports close-clearance operations where tool approach angle matters. The overall length of 150 mm (5.906 inches) and head length of 29 mm (1.142 inches) fit standard 16 mm square tool blocks and quick-change turrets. This holder is installed by CNC machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production turning specialists.
Compatible with the following DG-series inserts: DGL 2200JS-15D, DGL 2200JS-6D, DGL 2202C-6D, DGL 2202J-6D, DGN 2002C, DGN 2002JT, DGN 2200JS, DGN 2202C, DGN 2202J, DGN 2202JT, DGN 2202LF, DGN 2502C, DGR 2200JS-15D, DGR 2200JS-6D, DGR 2202C-6D. Also accepts inserts from the DGN-LF/LFT, DGN-MF, DGN-P, DGN-UT/UA, DGN-WP, DGN-Z, DGN/DGNC/DGNM-C, DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT, DGR-P, DGR-WP, DGR-Z/ZS, DGR/L-C, DGRC/LC-C, and DGR/L-J/JS size code families.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or turning center operators. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before mounting or changing the toolholder or insert. Secure the shank in the tool block to the machine manufacturer's recommended clamping torque using appropriate hex keys. Verify insert seating and clamp engagement before resuming cutting operations.
