The IRWIN INDUSTRIAL TOOL CO 9328 is a 10-24 National Coarse thread hexagonal machine screw die made from carbon steel. It is sized at 1 inch across the hex, making it compatible with standard hex die stocks as well as common wrenches and sockets. This die is designed for hand threading work and is well suited for routine maintenance and repair tasks where high-accuracy thread tolerances are not critical. Rethreading damaged or worn fastener threads is a primary application. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance technicians working in mechanical, plumbing, or general facility maintenance will find this a practical shop and field tool.
The 9328 is intended for hand threading operations across a variety of materials. Its 1-inch hex body seats directly into a standard hex die stock for guided threading work. When space is limited, the hex profile allows a wrench or socket to drive the die without a dedicated stock. This makes it useful on job sites or in equipment bays where clearance around a fastener is restricted. It is not designed for precision threading applications where tight thread tolerance classes are required.
Designed for use with standard hexagon die stocks. The 1-inch hex body is also compatible with appropriately sized wrenches and sockets for use when clearance is limited.
A licensed mechanic or maintenance technician typically performs rethreading work using this die. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped or fixed before beginning threading. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the material being threaded to reduce friction and extend die life. This die is rated for hand threading only and should not be used in a powered threading machine.
