The IRWIN BLADES 1896004 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade built for contour cutting on metal and other tough materials. Measuring 14 feet 7 inches in total length and 0.5 inches wide, this blade runs a variable 10 to 14 TPI pitch pattern that reduces vibration and improves chip removal across a range of material thicknesses. The teeth are high speed steel M42 grade with a positive rake angle, which means faster cuts and longer edge life under heavy use. At 0.025 inches thick and a 0.5-inch kerf width, it fits standard 14-inch bandsaw wheels and delivers clean, consistent results. Machinists, fabricators, and metal trade professionals are the primary installers and users of this blade.
This blade is suited to metal cutting applications in both shop and light industrial environments. The variable pitch design makes it effective on structural shapes, solid bar stock, tubing, and bundle cutting where a fixed-pitch blade would chatter. The M42 high speed steel tooth material handles alloy steels, stainless, and other hard metals better than standard M2 bi-metal blades. Contour cutting capability lets operators follow curved or irregular cut paths without blade deflection. It is a one-piece welded loop, ready to mount without additional joining.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit blade for bandsaws that accept a 14 feet 7 inch loop blade with 0.5-inch width and 0.025-inch thickness.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or fabricator with the machine fully powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Verify wheel diameter, blade tracking adjustment range, and blade guide clearances before mounting. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the coiled blade. After installation, run the saw unloaded briefly and re-check blade tracking and tension before beginning any cut.
