The IPS 63642 is a 2-inch by 3-inch adjustable round shower drain built from Schedule 40 PVC with a chrome-plated stamped steel strainer. It connects to the drain line via solvent weld, making it a standard fit for residential tile shower installations. The adjustable body allows the drain height to be set to match the finished tile surface, reducing the need for shimming or cutting during rough-in. Licensed plumbers and experienced installers are the typical trades working with this drain. It meets ASME A112.18.2-2015 and CSA B125.2-15 requirements and carries IAPMO and UPC listings.
The 63642 is designed for residential shower applications where tile flooring is used. The adjustable clamping collar accommodates varying finished floor thicknesses, and the integral test plug allows the installer to pressure-test the drain system before tile work begins. The chrome-plated round strainer provides a clean finished appearance in standard residential bathrooms. The gray PVC drain body blends with standard ABS and PVC rough-in configurations common in residential construction.
Designed for residential shower installations with tile flooring where a 2-inch by 3-inch Schedule 40 PVC solvent weld drain connection is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and ensure the drain line is dry before applying solvent cement to the weld joint. Use the integral test plug to verify the drain assembly is watertight before the tile bed and finish flooring are set. Do not overtighten the clamping collar, as excessive force can crack the PVC drain body.
