The IPS 512567 is a 5/16-inch no-hub torque wrench designed for tightening no-hub band couplings to the correct torque specification on cast iron drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. This tool ensures that no-hub couplings are fastened consistently, reducing the risk of leaks caused by over- or under-tightening. It is a standard tool for licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on commercial and residential DWV installations where no-hub cast iron pipe is specified.
This torque wrench is used during the installation or repair of no-hub cast iron piping systems. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit work in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The 5/16-inch drive fits the hex-head bolts found on standard no-hub band couplings. Any plumber or pipefitter working with no-hub cast iron pipe should have this wrench in their service kit.
Designed for use with standard no-hub band couplings on cast iron DWV piping systems. Compatible with no-hub couplings using 5/16-inch hex-head bolts, as commonly found in residential and commercial drain, waste, and vent piping.
This tool is used by licensed plumbers and pipefitters during DWV rough-in or repair. Follow the coupling manufacturer's torque specification when fastening no-hub bands. Ensure the piping system is depressurized and drained before disturbing any existing couplings. Installation of no-hub cast iron DWV systems should comply with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC).
