The IPEX 9847020 is a 2-inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket cap designed to terminate the end of a CPVC piping run in industrial and chemical process systems. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, this cap meets the dimensional and pressure standards of Schedule 80 fittings and provides a solvent-cement socket connection. Its CPVC construction delivers strong resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and a broad range of aggressive chemicals, making it a reliable long-term alternative to metal end caps in demanding service environments. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting as part of a complete CPVC pipe, valves, and fittings system.
This socket cap is suited for use in chemical processing facilities, industrial plants, and potable water systems where corrosion resistance and extended service life are required. The fitting is part of the IPEX Corzan CPVC system, which is engineered and produced to a single manufacturer standard, eliminating dimensional mismatches common when mixing components from multiple suppliers. It is appropriate for both above-ground and underground installations where soil corrosion or electrochemical attack would degrade metal fittings. NSF and CSA International listing makes it acceptable for potable water applications as well.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems used in industrial and chemical process applications.
Installation of CPVC Schedule 80 fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with solvent-cement joining procedures for CPVC. Shut off and depressurize the affected piping segment before cutting or fitting work begins. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer; do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not compatible with CPVC compound. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before returning the line to service pressure.
