The IPEX 9847010 is a 1-inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket cap designed to terminate the end of a CPVC piping run in industrial and chemical process systems. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, this fitting delivers exceptional resistance to a broad range of acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. The socket-end connection bonds with solvent cement for a secure, leak-free seal. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in industrial process lines where corrosion resistance and long service life are the primary design requirements.
This socket cap is suited for industrial process piping, chemical handling systems, and potable water applications where metal fittings would be vulnerable to corrosion or galvanic degradation. The Corzan CPVC material is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for potable water service. It is also rated for use in underground installations, as CPVC is immune to electrochemical and galvanic corrosion from surrounding soil conditions. This fitting is part of the IPEX Corzan system, a complete Pipe, Valves and Fittings package engineered and manufactured to uniform dimensional and performance standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems using solvent-cement socket connections.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using approved CPVC solvent cement per the pipe and fitting manufacturer guidelines and applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting or joining any fitting. Ensure mating pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and cleaned before applying solvent cement. Do not apply heat or flame to CPVC fittings during installation.
