The IPEX 9837338 is a CPVC Schedule 80 hex head reducing bushing designed for industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are required. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC per ASTM F439, this injection-molded fitting carries a pressure rating of 2000 psi at 73 degrees F and a temperature rating of 210 degrees F. The spigot x socket end connection accepts solvent cement joining, making it compatible with standard CPVC Schedule 80 pipe assembly methods. The light gray finish and flush hex head profile allow for straightforward hand or wrench installation in tight spaces. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in process piping, chilled water, and wastewater applications.
This bushing is sized at 3 inches x 2 inches and is used to reduce pipe diameter within a Schedule 80 CPVC system. Typical applications include chemical processing lines, industrial plating systems, chilled water distribution, deionized water lines, chemical drainage, and wastewater treatment systems. The ANSI/NSF 14/61 listing covers both pressure pipe and potable water contact requirements, making it suitable across a wide range of fluid handling scenarios. Packaged 5 per carton for convenient jobsite or shop stocking.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems using solvent cement joining per ASTM F439 specifications. Suitable for 3-inch to 2-inch diameter reduction within any compatible Schedule 80 CPVC pipeline assembly.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes including IAPMO and local jurisdiction requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting or modifying any section. Use a CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer per the cement manufacturer instructions, and allow full cure time before returning the system to pressure. Do not use this fitting with pipe materials or solvent cements not rated for CPVC Schedule 80 service.
