The IPEX 9829010 is a 1-inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket-by-socket coupling designed for industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are critical. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting handles a broad range of service temperatures and resists corrosion, oxidation, and photodegradation. The socket-by-socket end configuration allows solvent-cement joining to mating Schedule 80 CPVC pipe. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process lines, industrial fluid handling systems, and potable water distribution where metal corrosion is a concern.
This coupling is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial piping applications involving acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capability compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand process piping. The Corzan CPVC material resists electrochemical and galvanic corrosion, making it a reliable choice for underground installations in naturally corrosive soil conditions. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for potable water use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems in chemical process, industrial fluid handling, and potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and the IPEX Corzan installation guidelines. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting or joining any fittings. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer compatible with Schedule 80 CPVC; do not use PVC-only formulations. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before returning the system to service pressure.
