The IPEX 9801291 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing tee designed for high-pressure piping systems in plumbing, irrigation, industrial, and pool and spa applications. This injection-molded fitting features a 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch by 1.5 inch configuration with slip connections on all three ports, allowing solvent-cement joining to CPVC pipe of matching schedule. The CPVC compound meets ASTM D1784 Grade 1 Type 4 specification, providing strong resistance to heat, pressure, and chemical exposure. The fitting is lead-free and rated for potable water service under NSF 14 and NSF 61 standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of both new construction and retrofit pressure piping systems.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and commercial piping installations where a branch reduction from 2.5 inch run pipe to a 1.5 inch branch is required. Common applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, irrigation mainlines, pool and spa plumbing, and light industrial chemical handling lines. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides higher pressure ratings than Schedule 40 fittings of the same diameter, making it appropriate for demanding service conditions. It is available through plumbing supply and retail trade channels.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC pressure piping systems used in plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, and industrial applications where slip-connect reducing tees are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM F493 solvent-cement procedures for CPVC pipe and fittings. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer; do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring system pressure.
