The IPEX 9801247A is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducing tee designed for use in pressure piping systems where a perpendicular branch connection of a smaller diameter is required off a larger main line. Manufactured from Xirtec CPVC compound, this fitting handles a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional exposure up to 212 degrees F. The socket x socket x socket configuration accepts solvent-welded joints on all three ports. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting in potable water, industrial process, and hot and cold distribution systems where corrosion resistance and long service life are priorities.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical systems that use CPVC Schedule 80 pressure piping. The run ports accept 2-inch pipe and the branch port accepts 0.5-inch pipe, making it appropriate for applications where a smaller takeoff is needed without stepping down the main line. It is installed using standard CPVC solvent cement and primer following manufacturer and applicable code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Xirtec CPVC Schedule 80 pressure piping systems with a 2-inch main run and 0.5-inch branch takeoff.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or local equivalent. Shut off and depressurize the supply line and allow it to drain fully before cutting into existing pipe. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement; do not use PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring system pressure.
