The IPEX 59459 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling designed for joining 4-inch pipe to 2-inch pipe in industrial and commercial piping systems. Constructed from Corzan CPVC material, this coupling offers a socket-by-socket end connection and carries a temperature rating of 200 degrees F. The 0.337-inch wall thickness meets ASTM F441 material specifications and NSF standards, making it a suitable choice for corrosive-media and high-temperature process piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems where chemical resistance and schedule 80 pressure ratings are required.
This reducing coupling is used across a wide range of industrial and specialty applications including chemical process lines, plant chemical distribution, water and wastewater systems, acid systems for refineries, pickling lines and plating shops, chlorine injection, chlorine dioxide and chloralkali plant piping, steel wire plants, irrigation, semiconductor fabrication, fish farming, plant water supply, circuit board manufacturing, pharmaceutical processing, aquarium and swimming pool systems, and waterworks applications.
Designed as a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing coupling for use in industrial process, chemical distribution, and specialty fluid handling piping systems where CPVC solvent-weld socket fittings are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with CPVC solvent-cement joining procedures. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and cement approved for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service. Follow applicable plumbing and industrial piping codes for support spacing and chemical compatibility verification.
