The IPEX 36780 is a 6-inch PVC Schedule 80 socket tee designed for industrial and commercial piping systems that demand reliable chemical resistance and long service life. Built to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, this tee handles higher pressure ratings than Schedule 40 fittings of the same size. PVC construction delivers full immunity to rust, pitting, scale, and corrosion, with a smooth interior bore that maintains flow efficiency over the life of the installation. It is rated for a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F in pressure service and up to 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters typically install this fitting in process piping, chemical distribution, and municipal water applications.
This socket tee is suited for industrial process piping, chemical handling systems, and potable water distribution. The Xirtec PVC system is engineered and manufactured to uniform dimensional and performance standards, reducing compatibility issues that arise when mixing fittings from multiple suppliers. Its chemical resistance profile covers most acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it a practical choice wherever aggressive media rules out metal piping. It is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use with potable water.
Designed for use within the IPEX Xirtec PVC Schedule 80 piping system. Compatible with 6-inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe joined by solvent cement per applicable installation standards. Listed with NSF and CSA International for potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and the manufacturer's solvent-cement joining instructions. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into an existing line. Use only PVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 wall thickness and the service fluid. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's specifications before returning the system to service.
