The IPEX 36729 is a PVC Schedule 80 reducing coupling with socket-by-socket end connections, sized at 2 inches by 1 inch. It is designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems where higher pressure ratings and superior chemical resistance are required compared to Schedule 40 fittings. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added durability under demanding service conditions. This coupling is installed by licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters working on chemical process lines, water distribution, and other fluid-handling systems that require a reliable, corrosion-resistant connection point.
This coupling is suited for both industrial and commercial applications involving chemical processes, potable water distribution, and general fluid conveyance. Its PVC construction performs well across a wide range of acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens, making it a practical choice for process piping environments. It is also appropriate for potable water service installations where NSF and CSA compliance is required. The smooth interior walls support consistent flow characteristics throughout the service life of the fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement socket connections in industrial and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable plumbing codes, including IPC guidelines for solvent-cemented PVC fittings. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting out or joining any fitting. Use only PVC Schedule 80-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for the service conditions and ambient temperature range. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before returning the system to service.
