The IPEX 36719 is a Schedule 80 PVC reducing coupling in a 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch socket by socket (SxS) configuration. It is designed for use in pressure piping systems where a reduction in line size is required while maintaining a secure, solvent-welded joint. Schedule 80 PVC offers greater wall thickness and pressure rating than Schedule 40, making it appropriate for industrial, chemical process, and demanding commercial plumbing applications. This fitting is manufactured to strict dimensional and performance standards and is resistant to rust, scaling, pitting, and corrosion. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems handling water, acids, alcohols, salts, and halogen-based fluids.
This coupling is suited for residential and commercial potable water systems, chemical process lines, and industrial fluid handling where PVC is a code-accepted material. Its smooth interior walls support consistent flow without the buildup typical of metal fittings. It is NSF-listed and CSA-certified for use with potable water, making it appropriate for drinking water and plumbing supply applications. The 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch reducing configuration allows a direct transition between two common pipe sizes without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement joints in industrial, chemical process, and potable water plumbing applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable codes such as the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local jurisdictional requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line before cutting or joining any fitting. Use only PVC-rated primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 80 applications, and allow full cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not apply heat or flame to PVC fittings during installation.
