The IPEX 36450 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple fitting designed for use in pressurized piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required. Sized at 1-1/4 inches nominal diameter with an overall length of 2 inches, this nipple features male threaded connections on both ends for straightforward integration into threaded piping assemblies. The gray PVC construction meets ASTM D1784, D1785, and D2467 material specifications and carries an NSF listing for potable water applications. Injection-molded construction places material reinforcement uniformly in stress concentration zones, improving pressure handling capability compared to standard fittings.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial potable water systems where PVC Schedule 80 pipe is specified. It is also appropriate for chemical distribution, irrigation, and other fluid-handling systems within the fitting's rated temperature range of 140 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit applications. The smooth interior wall reduces friction losses and supports higher flow volume relative to conventional metal fittings of the same nominal size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with 1-1/4 inch Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems meeting ASTM D1785 and D2467 standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads per the sealant manufacturer's instructions. Do not overtighten PVC fittings, as excessive torque can crack the fitting body.
