The IPEX 36212 is a 3/4-inch PVC Schedule 80 Socket x Female Threaded Adapter engineered for industrial and commercial piping systems that demand reliable chemical resistance and long service life. Built to Schedule 80 dimensional standards, this fitting provides a thicker wall than Schedule 40 for improved pressure-bearing capacity. It connects a socket-end pipe to a female-threaded port, making it a common transition fitting in process piping, chemical handling, and utility distribution systems. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting where corrosion resistance and low maintenance are required over extended service intervals.
This adapter is suited for chemical process piping, potable water distribution, industrial fluid handling, and other applications where metal fittings are vulnerable to corrosion or chemical attack. The PVC Schedule 80 construction handles a broad range of acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens, making it appropriate for both plant utility lines and process-side applications. It is NSF-listed and CSA International-certified for use with potable water, extending its application to water treatment and building service piping where code compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 PVC fitting compatible with standard 3/4-inch PVC Schedule 80 pipe and fittings systems meeting IPEX dimensional and performance standards for industrial and potable water piping applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting or disassembling any section. The socket end requires proper PVC primer and solvent cement applied per the cement manufacturer and applicable code requirements. Female-threaded connections should use PTFE thread tape or approved pipe thread sealant rated for PVC to avoid stress cracking from over-torquing.
