The IPEX 36189 is a 4-inch PVC Schedule 80 90-degree elbow with socket x socket end connections. It is part of the Xirtec PVC system, engineered and manufactured to strict dimensional and performance standards for industrial and commercial piping applications. The fitting is rated for a maximum service temperature of 140 degrees F in pressure service and 180 degrees F for intermittent gravity flow. The smooth interior bore resists rust, pitting, scale, and corrosion. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process lines, industrial fluid handling systems, and potable water distribution systems.
This elbow is suited for use in both industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required. The Xirtec PVC system is designed to deliver a complete pipe, valves, and fittings package from a single manufacturer, reducing compatibility issues between components. Typical applications include chemical process piping, industrial fluid transfer, and potable water systems. The fitting carries NSF and CSA International listings for use with potable water.
Designed for use within the IPEX Xirtec PVC Schedule 80 piping system. Compatible with standard 4-inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings meeting applicable ASTM dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into existing lines. Use a PVC-rated primer and Schedule 80-compatible solvent cement for all socket connections, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service. Do not apply heat to PVC fittings during installation.
