The IPEX 36094 is a 1-1/2 inch PVC Schedule 80 socket x socket coupling designed for industrial and commercial piping systems. It connects two pipe sections of equal diameter using solvent-cement socket joints, providing a permanent, pressure-rated connection. Schedule 80 PVC construction offers thicker walls than Schedule 40, supporting higher pressure ratings and greater durability in demanding service environments. This coupling is suitable for use in chemical process lines, water treatment systems, and other industrial fluid-handling applications. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on above-ground or below-ground thermoplastic piping systems.
This coupling is engineered for applications where chemical resistance, long service life, and low maintenance are priorities. It is well-suited for systems conveying acids, alcohols, salts, and halogens, as well as potable water systems where NSF and CSA International listing is required. Industrial facilities, municipal water systems, and chemical processing plants are common installation environments. The smooth interior bore minimizes flow restriction and resists buildup over the life of the fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1-1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using solvent-cement socket connections, consistent with ASTM and dimensional standards for thermoplastic pressure fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic solvent-cement joining procedures. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into an existing line. Use a PVC-compatible primer and Schedule 80-rated solvent cement per the fitting manufacturer and applicable plumbing code requirements, including IPC and local authority having jurisdiction. Allow full cure time before pressurizing the system.
