The IPEX 340926 is a 6-inch PVC male threaded plug designed for SDR35 sewer and drain piping systems. This fitting seals the end of a male-threaded pipe or fitting, isolating a line segment during testing, capping unused ports, or closing off a run during staged construction. Manufactured to D3034 standards, it is compatible with solvent-weld assembly methods and is suited for gravity-flow drain, waste, and sewer applications. Plumbers and underground utility contractors install this plug where a reliable, pressure-resistant termination is needed in PVC drainage piping.
This plug is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, site drainage, and sanitary sewer installations where PVC SDR35 pipe is specified. It is commonly installed at cleanout terminations, lateral stubs, and test points during rough-in and inspection stages. The solvent-weld socket interface ensures a consistent, leak-free seal when joined with approved PVC primer and cement per manufacturer and code requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for SDR35 PVC sewer and drain piping systems conforming to ASTM D3034 specifications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local amendments. Shut off flow and depressurize or drain the line before cutting into an existing run. Solvent-weld joints require approved PVC primer and cement applied per the cement manufacturer instructions and allowed to cure fully before pressure testing. Do not use this plug in pressurized supply piping applications.
