The IPEX 156182 is a 2-inch 90-degree elbow (1/4 bend) from the Labline Mechanical-Joint Acid Waste System. Manufactured from flame retardant polypropylene (FRPP), this fitting is engineered for laboratory and industrial acid waste drainage piping. The mechanical-joint design allows fast, reliable connections without the need for solvent cementing, hot-tool fusion, or the specialized skills required by glass and metal systems. Each fitting ships pre-assembled with Olives and Union Nuts, reducing staging time on the job. Plumbers and pipefitters working in lab environments rely on Labline components where chemical resistance and code-compliant drainage are both required.
This elbow is part of the Labline FRPP system, which is designed as a direct alternative to traditional glass and metal acid waste piping. Typical installations include laboratory drain stacks and branch lines in research facilities, educational institutions, pharmaceutical plants, and light industrial settings where dilute acid waste must be safely conveyed to the drainage system. The 90-degree geometry handles direction changes within the drainage layout, transitioning flow from horizontal branches to vertical stacks or navigating tight directional changes in the waste line.
Designed for use within the Labline Mechanical-Joint Acid Waste System. Compatible with other Labline FRPP fittings and pipe of the same diameter and joint type within the Labline product family.
Installation of acid waste drainage systems should be performed by a licensed plumber familiar with laboratory plumbing codes and applicable sections of the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Verify that the drainage system is depressurized and drained before making any connections or modifications. Assemble Labline mechanical joints per the manufacturer assembly sequence, ensuring Olives and Union Nuts are properly seated before tightening. Do not use solvent cements, adhesives, or heat-fusion tools on Labline mechanical-joint fittings.
