The IPEX 112114prb is a PVC Schedule 40 conduit reducer bushing used to transition between two different conduit sizes within an electrical raceway system. Configured in a bell-by-spigot arrangement, it accepts a 1.5-inch bell end and a 1.25-inch spigot end, allowing a direct solvent-weld connection at each joint. This fitting maintains the structural and dielectric properties of Schedule 40 PVC conduit and is suited for both above-ground and underground conduit installations. Electricians and conduit installers use this bushing when reducing conduit diameter at junction boxes, conduit bodies, or transition points in a run.
This reducer bushing is intended for use in Schedule 40 PVC conduit systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical applications. It is well suited for dry, wet, or direct-burial conduit runs where a size reduction is needed without introducing a coupling and separate adapter. The bell-by-spigot design streamlines the transition and keeps the fitting profile compact within the raceway layout.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit systems requiring a 1.5-inch to 1.25-inch diameter reduction at a bell-to-spigot joint.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for PVC conduit systems. De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before opening any conduit section. Apply listed PVC conduit solvent cement to both the spigot end and the interior of the bell socket before joining; follow the cement manufacturer's cure time before pulling wire. Do not use pipe-thread sealant or incompatible adhesives on solvent-weld PVC conduit fittings.
