The IO HVAC CONTROLS TD-1606 is a rectangular zone damper designed for use in ducted HVAC zoning systems. It ships with a 60-second Belimo 3-wire actuator pre-mounted, providing reliable, timed blade positioning to control airflow in each zone. The damper body measures 16 inches by 6 inches and is built to OEM-style dimensional standards for straightforward duct integration. Licensed HVAC technicians and zoning system installers are the primary trade installing this component. The actuator's 3-wire configuration supports both power-open and power-close operation, giving the control board direct command over damper position in either direction.
This zone damper is intended for residential and light commercial forced-air zoning applications using Trane and American Standard equipment. It installs in the supply or return ductwork as part of a multi-zone control system, directing conditioned air only to active zones as called by the zone control board. The pre-installed Belimo actuator reduces field assembly time and ensures factory-matched actuator-to-damper performance. Typical applications include retrofits and new installations on Trane and American Standard ducted systems where zone-by-zone airflow control is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation zone damper for Trane and American Standard rectangular duct zoning systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with ducted zoning systems and low-voltage control wiring. Power down the air handler and zone control board before making any wiring connections to the actuator. Secure the damper body to the duct with sheet metal screws and seal all joints per applicable mechanical codes. Verify actuator rotation direction and end-stop settings match the zone control board requirements before restoring power.
