The IO HVAC CONTROLS RM-2608-BM is a rectangular zone damper designed for residential and light commercial zoned HVAC systems. Measuring 26 x 8 inches, it features a bottom-mount configuration and ships with a 35-second Belimo actuator using a 3-wire control wiring setup. Zone dampers like this one regulate airflow to individual zones by opening and closing in response to thermostat calls, allowing independent temperature control across multiple areas of a structure. Licensed HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors are the typical installers for this type of damper assembly.
This damper is suited for ducted forced-air systems where zone control is required. The bottom-mount actuator position accommodates duct configurations where side or top mounting is not practical. The included Belimo actuator provides a 35-second stroke time, which is compatible with standard zone control boards and panel systems that sequence zone damper operation. It is appropriate for new installations and retrofit zone-control projects in residential and small commercial applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install zone damper for residential and light commercial ducted forced-air zoning systems. The 3-wire Belimo actuator is compatible with standard zone control boards that support 3-wire damper control. Refer to your zone panel documentation to confirm actuator signal compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Shut down the air handler or furnace and disconnect power to the zone control panel before installing or replacing a zone damper. Secure the damper into the duct opening per the manufacturer instructions and route the 3-wire actuator harness to the zone control board. Verify damper operation by cycling the zone through a thermostat call before returning the system to service.
