The IO HVAC CONTROLS RM-1616 is a rectangular zone damper designed for use in forced-air HVAC zoning systems. Sized at 16 inches by 16 inches, it controls airflow through individual zones by opening and closing on demand from a zone control board or thermostat. The unit ships with a Belimo actuator that operates on a 3-wire control circuit and cycles fully in approximately 35 seconds. Licensed HVAC technicians install this damper as part of a multi-zone residential or light commercial ducted system. The combination of a proven Belimo actuator and a robust damper body makes this a field-ready assembly straight out of the box.
This damper is suited for rectangular trunk or branch duct installations where zone control is required. It fits into systems where individual room or area temperature control is needed, such as two-story homes, additions, or commercial suites served by a single air handler. The 3-wire actuator wiring accepts a standard spring-return or floating-point signal common to most residential and light commercial zone control panels. Installers working on Rheem-branded zoning systems will find this damper dimensionally and electrically compatible with that platform.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation damper for Rheem rectangular zone damper applications. Consult your zone control panel documentation to confirm 3-wire actuator compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. De-energize the air handler and zone control panel before connecting or disconnecting actuator wiring. The damper must be mounted with the actuator orientation matching the manufacturer's arrow or label indicators to ensure correct blade travel. Do not force the blade manually while the actuator is energized, as this can damage the actuator gear train.
