The IO HVAC CONTROLS RM-1410 is a rectangular zone damper designed for residential and light commercial HVAC zoning systems. It ships with a 35-second Belimo actuator wired in a standard 3-wire configuration, allowing the damper blade to open and close on a call from a zone controller or thermostat. At 14 inches wide by 10 inches tall, this damper fits ductwork of that nominal cross-section and is built to regulate conditioned airflow between independently controlled zones. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this component, typically during a zoning system installation or a damper replacement service call.
This damper is suited for forced-air residential zoning applications where multiple thermostats independently control airflow to different areas of a structure. The 3-wire Belimo actuator provides spring-return functionality, meaning the damper defaults to a defined position on power loss, which is standard practice for zone control safety. The RM-1410 fits rectangular duct openings and integrates with zone control boards that output a low-voltage signal to drive the actuator open or closed. It is appropriate for new zoning installations as well as one-for-one damper replacements in existing systems.
Designed as an OEM-style rectangular zone damper for use with residential and light commercial forced-air zoning systems that accept a 3-wire low-voltage actuator signal. Verify duct opening dimensions and zone controller actuator wiring requirements before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with zoning system wiring and ductwork modification. Shut down the air handler and de-energize all low-voltage wiring at the zone control panel before beginning work. Secure the damper into the duct opening per the manufacturer instructions and verify the actuator wiring matches the zone board output terminals before restoring power. Confirm damper blade travel and proper open and closed positions after commissioning.
