The IO HVAC CONTROLS RM-1006 is a rectangular zone damper designed to control airflow in zoned HVAC duct systems. It ships with a 35-second Belimo actuator wired in a 3-wire configuration, allowing the actuator to drive the blade both open and closed under direct electronic control. The duct opening size is 10 inches wide by 6 inches tall, making it a standard mid-range size for residential and light commercial trunk-and-branch duct layouts. Licensed HVAC technicians install this damper as part of a zone control system, typically pairing it with a zone control board and low-voltage thermostat wiring.
This damper fits into rectangular sheet metal duct systems where individual zones require independent temperature control. Typical installations include multi-story residential homes, room additions, and light commercial spaces where a single air handler serves more than one conditioned zone. The 3-wire Belimo actuator provides positive open and positive close operation, which is preferred over spring-return designs in applications where reliable blade positioning in both directions is required. The unit is sized for a 10-inch by 6-inch duct opening and is installed inline within the supply duct run serving each zone.
The RM-1006 is designed as an OEM-style rectangular zone damper for use in residential and light commercial zoned forced-air HVAC systems using 10-inch by 6-inch rectangular duct openings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the zone control system at the breaker before beginning work. The damper is installed inline in the supply duct, with low-voltage control wiring run back to the zone control board following the board manufacturer's wiring diagram. Verify actuator travel direction and end-of-travel limits before returning the system to service.
