The IO HVAC CONTROLS OAD-12-120V is a 12-inch round fresh air intake damper rated for 120-volt operation. It is designed to control the flow of outdoor air into a forced-air HVAC system, opening and closing on demand to manage ventilation. The damper mounts in the fresh air duct at the point where outside air enters the air handler or furnace cabinet. At 6.162 pounds, it is a solid, field-installable unit suited for residential and light commercial ventilation applications. HVAC technicians install this damper as part of indoor air quality upgrades, mechanical ventilation systems, or fresh air makeup assemblies.
This damper is used in ducted forced-air systems where controlled outside air intake is required. Typical applications include residential ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation compliance installations, ERV or HRV bypass duct assemblies, and fresh air makeup setups on gas or electric furnaces. The 120-volt actuator allows direct wiring to standard line-voltage control circuits, making it compatible with common ventilation controllers, dehumidistats, and IAQ control systems. The round 12-inch form factor fits standard round duct and collar fittings commonly found in residential construction.
Designed as an OEM-style fresh air intake damper for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a 12-inch round motorized damper with 120-volt actuation.
A licensed HVAC technician should install this damper in accordance with local mechanical codes and ASHRAE ventilation standards. Shut off power to the air handler and any associated control circuits before beginning installation or wiring. The actuator wiring should be run and connected per the manufacturer wiring diagram and applicable NEC requirements for line-voltage low-current control wiring. Confirm the damper blade moves freely and the actuator reaches both full-open and full-closed positions before restoring power and commissioning the ventilation system.
