The IO HVAC CONTROLS MD-2808 is a rectangular two-position zone damper designed for residential and light commercial HVAC zoning applications. It ships with a Belimo three-wire actuator that drives the blade between fully open and fully closed positions, enabling precise zone-by-zone airflow control within a ducted forced-air system. The damper body measures 28 inches wide by 8 inches tall, fitting a standard rectangular duct opening of that size. At 9 pounds, it is a solid unit suited for installations where reliable, repeatable positioning is required. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers.
This damper is used in multi-zone forced-air systems where individual rooms or areas require independent temperature control. The two-position operation means the actuator moves fully open when a zone calls for conditioning and returns to fully closed when the call is satisfied. It is appropriate for residential zoning retrofits as well as new-construction light commercial installations. The included Belimo three-wire actuator is compatible with standard 24-volt zone control boards and thermostats used in typical zoning setups.
Designed as an OEM-style rectangular zone damper replacement or new-install component for residential and light commercial ducted forced-air HVAC zoning systems using 24-volt control wiring.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal contractor. Power down the air handler and de-energize all low-voltage control wiring at the zone panel before beginning installation. The damper should be mounted securely in the duct section with sheet metal screws and sealed at the frame perimeter to prevent air bypass. Wiring of the Belimo three-wire actuator must follow the zone control board manufacturer's wiring diagram and applicable local mechanical codes.
