The IO HVAC CONTROLS MD-2808-BM is a rectangular two-position zone damper designed to control airflow in ducted HVAC zoning systems. Measuring 28 inches wide by 8 inches tall, it ships with a Belimo three-wire actuator mounted on the bottom of the damper body. The two-position design opens and closes the damper blade fully, making it well suited for residential and light commercial zoning applications where staged airflow control is required. Licensed HVAC technicians install this damper inline within rectangular ductwork as part of a zoned forced-air system, typically wired to a zone control board or thermostat panel.
The MD-2808-BM is used in residential and light commercial forced-air zoning systems where rectangular duct runs require individual zone control. The bottom-mount actuator configuration is appropriate where access to the underside of the duct is available during installation. The Belimo three-wire actuator operates on a standard low-voltage control signal, compatible with most zone control boards that support spring-return or end-switch actuator wiring. This damper fits 28-inch by 8-inch rectangular duct openings and is intended for new construction and retrofit zoning projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation zone damper for rectangular duct zoning systems using Belimo three-wire actuators in residential and light commercial forced-air applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Power down the air handler and de-energize all zone control circuits before installing or servicing the damper and actuator. Ensure the duct opening matches the 28-inch by 8-inch damper frame dimensions before cutting into existing ductwork. Low-voltage wiring to the actuator should follow the zone control board manufacturer wiring diagram and comply with NEC requirements for low-voltage circuits.
