The IO HVAC CONTROLS MD-2412-BM is a rectangular two-position zone damper sized at 24 inches wide by 12 inches tall, designed for use in forced-air zoning systems. It ships with a Belimo three-wire actuator mounted on the bottom of the damper frame. The two-position actuator drives the damper blade fully open or fully closed in response to a 24-volt zone control signal, making it a straightforward fit for residential and light commercial zoning applications. HVAC technicians install this damper directly into rectangular sheet metal ductwork to divide a system into independently controlled zones. The unit weighs 10 pounds and the overall assembly dimensions are 17 inches wide by 27 inches tall by 8 inches deep.
This damper is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air zoning installations where a dedicated control board or zone controller issues open and close commands over low-voltage wiring. The bottom-mount actuator position is appropriate for horizontal or vertical duct runs where access to the bottom of the duct is available. Installers typically use it on trunk lines or branch ducts feeding individual zones in a multi-zone split system or air handler setup. No field-supplied actuator is needed; the Belimo three-wire actuator is included and factory-mounted.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation zone damper for rectangular forced-air duct systems controlled by standard 24-volt two-position zone controllers.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with forced-air zoning systems and low-voltage control wiring. De-energize the air handler or furnace and the zone control panel before wiring or mounting the damper. The damper should be installed in a straight duct section with sufficient clearance around the actuator for service access. Wire the actuator to the zone control board per the controller manufacturer's low-voltage wiring diagram and verify proper open and close operation before restoring system power.
