The IO HVAC CONTROLS MD-2408 is a rectangular two-position zone damper designed for use in ducted HVAC zoning systems. Equipped with a Belimo three-wire actuator, this damper opens and closes on command from a zone control board or thermostat, directing conditioned air to designated zones within a structure. The unit measures 24 inches wide by 8 inches tall and weighs 8 pounds, making it suited for medium-capacity residential or light commercial duct runs. HVAC technicians install this damper inline within sheet metal ductwork as part of a multi-zone forced-air system.
The MD-2408 is applied in residential and light commercial forced-air zoning installations where independent temperature control is required across multiple areas. It installs in rectangular supply or return duct sections and integrates with standard 24-volt zone control panels that support Belimo three-wire actuator wiring. The two-position operation means the damper is either fully open or fully closed, which is the standard configuration for most residential zoning applications.
Designed for use in rectangular ducted forced-air HVAC zoning systems that support Belimo three-wire actuator wiring and standard 24-volt control signals.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Power down the air handler and de-energize all zone control panels before beginning work. The damper is installed inline within the duct run and secured per standard sheet metal practices; low-voltage actuator wiring must be run in accordance with NEC guidelines for Class 2 circuits. Do not overtighten sheet metal screws against the damper frame, as this can bind the blade and affect operation.
